Has anyone floated the idea of urging the city to buy the property and run it like a pool or a park?  Is there a precedent for this?

Even if the zone use is denied, the property is still for sale.  From what I saw last night, I don't think the Neighborhood Association would rally as quickly if some other retail establishment were going in.  I think perhaps we should try to work with them to get the city involved while emotions are still running high to preserve the rink...

If you would like to get the support of your local council member you can find him/her here: http://www.sanjoseca.gov/council.asp

Even if you do not live in SJ, you can still submit a letter to Liz at lizapalooza@gmail.com, and she can put it in the file submitted to the city planner.

I just think SJS is being run wrong.  It could be making some huge $$.. yes, a little money needs to go into it ..fix it up a bit..
But I have tons and tons of ideas on how this place could make a mint and remain a roller rink!!!
They just need to hire me as manager Smiley  (sorry Mike, or current owners )
