San Jose, California's Premier Roller Derby League

Get Involved

Whether you're a brand new skater, transferring from another league, or are aged 7-17, we've got you covered.

-New Skaters: New to derby and interested in joining SVRG as a skater? Our bootcamps will teach you the basics, rules, skills, and everything else you need to know in order to pass your minimums and join the league.
-Transfer skaters: Transfer skaters must have bouted within the last three months with a roller derby league to be an eligible transfer to SVRG. Skaters who have not bouted within the last three months can apply for transfer and are selected on an individual basis. Contact for more information.
-Junior skaters: Junior derby is open to girls and boys within the ages of 7 - 17.

We are always on the lookout for more skating and non-skating officials- no experience necessary, we will train you.

Skaters and officials aren't the only types of people we need to put on bouts or other events. SVRG has numerous other volunteer opportunities available for our fans.

Visiting skaters and officials

We love to have outside skaters practice with us. Please email to let us know what league you skate with, how long you have been skating, and when you will be in San Jose, and we'll get back to you with time and directions to our practice facility. If you'd like to skate with us, bring your proof of USARS or WFTDA insurance and photo ID. Skaters must have passed WFTDA minimum assessment. Please note that our practices are closed 2 weeks prior to a bout.
