By day, SVRG’s very own Skater Tots is a specialty cake artist and owner of A Spoonful of Sugar. She created this delicious and delectable treat for the premier of “Skater 26” at the San Francisco IndieFest on February 10th at the Roxie Theater.

The documentary follows the day-in and day-out life of a B.ay A.rea D.erby Girl (B.A.D. All-Star Chantilly Mace #26). Watch the trailer by 13th Generation Productions, produced by Steve Romanko and directed by Turner Van Ryn.

The film emphasizes the enormous time commitment involved in participating in a legitimate sport like roller derby. As Tots notes, “derby isn’t just something you do by night to let out your alter ego.”

Remarkably, just four days before the premier, Tots had surgery to reset her ankle which had been broken in three places from a derby injury. With the help of derby friends (Teddy Wreck-Spin, Bitch Puddin’, Nur, Destyn, and Elizabeth), she created this edible masterpiece—a testimony to her dedication and love of the sport.

While Tots prepares for her comeback, she’s dreaming up even more cakes. When asked what flavor cake SVRG would be, she replied, “My teammates like any flavor of cake!”
